Basic Configuration Example
Get rid of all the timers, triplets and messy cables hanging in your you growroom.
With this configuration you can get precise control of your lamps, and easily manage your ventilator to keep the desired values of temperature & humidity. You can also control your irrigation with any schedule you may need, and you get a extra output that you may use for whatever device you may find suitable.
Thanks to the GroNode module, this kit prepares you to further enhance your automation processes to other areas just by adding the extra module that you need.
The combination of all GroLab modules provides a control capability never seen before. The modules communicate with each other simulating the operation of a brain. This capability offers the grower the ability to replicate its physical abilities in GroLab performing hundreds of tasks simultaneously.
This is a scheme designed to show some of the possibilities of control of each module. Keep in mind that the scheme is limited to the number of modules included in the following kit. You can add extra modules (GroNode supports up to 4 modules of each type) and expand your control with new features.
THE HEART & BRAIN OF THE OPERATION
A state of the art growing unit that interacts with other GroLab™ modules simulating the operation of a brain. It is capable to execute hundreds of instructions and to store a large amount of data allowing a detailed analysis about the life cycle of the user’s plants. GroNode will do all the hard work for you and will notify you if a risk situation arises. The only limit to GroNode is your imagination.
Although it may not seem like it, GroNode is a powerful computer that can do hundreds of tasks by itself. This means that it is not necessary to have a PC or other third-party device connected to GroNode for it to continue working. GroLab™ Software is only required to configure the system and to monitor your grow(s).
GroNode is the core of the GroLab™ modular architecture, it is capable of controlling up to 4 modules of each type (PowerBot, TankBot and SoilBot). The user only needs to acquire the necessary modules to fulfill the desired purpose. This architecture also allows to easily adapt GroLab™ system to any environment regardless of its size, type, growing medium or growing system.
GroLab™ has several layers to protect your data, in addition to the credentials needed to access GroLab™ Software the system also requires credentials to access GroNode. This means that if your PC gets compromised the GroLab™ will stay safe. E-mail notifications are also secured, GroNode uses a private server as a redirection point to send notifications, this way the IP can't be linked to your location. Remember that GroLab™ can operate without Internet connection, using it that way entirely hides it from the world.
There are two main types of programmable procedures, alarms and schedules. GroNode has the ability to store and execute up to 100 of each type allowing a precise and extensive automation of any grow(s).
GroNode have its own memory that is capable of storing hundreds of thousands of data. With data-logging and data-visualization features, it is possible to do a detailed analysis about the life cycle of the user’s plants.
Monitor & Analysis
Using GroLab™ Software user can monitor and analyze the climate variables and the devices current state in real time. The software provides you notifications, charts, grow(s) overview and even allows you to export the sensors/devices values from the beginning of your grow(s) life cycle.
When you provide Internet connection to GroNode (the system's core module) it can send real time alerts and updates to your e-mail about the state of the devices and sensor connected to PowerBot. It will also notify you in case of any issues arises.
When connecting the GroNode (the system's core module) to a router with an Internet connection, it allows you to activate the GroLab™ system's remote control. This feature grants user access from anywhere at any time through an easy-to-use software. Allowing to fully control all the modules, including PowerBot.

PowerBot allows you to connect and control the electrical peripherals of your growing environment. This powerful unit monitors and automates all the basic elements of your grow like temperature, humidity, air flow, lighting and irrigation. Create safety protocols & procedures to avoid overheating and minimize the damage in case of fire. With PowerBot every variable is under your direct control, enabling you to maximize your growth and efficiency!
PowerBot provides power to all peripherals of your growing environment. It has 4 universal outlets that supports up to 2300W (per outlet and in total) or unlimited power when using an external electrical contactor.
This module comes with 4 external switches that give the user the ability to manually control all connected peripherals at any time on the spot.
With the combination between the temperature & humidity sensor and the capacity to independently control the electrical devices, it is possible to perform a precise climate automation. This feature makes the PowerBot a perfect tool to keep your growing environment with the perfect climate conditions for your plants to grow in a healthy way.
GroLab™ system allows you to automate any lighting system connected to PowerBot. It provides a huge amount of options when creating lighting schedules. Including the possibility to fully customize the day/night cycles length of your grow(s).
Connecting irrigation devices to PowerBot allows to fully automate the irrigation systems. Thanks to the programmable procedures provided by the GroLab™ system, it is possible to perform distinct irrigations during day and/or night periods and even separate those processes by groups of plants.
Safety Protocols & Procedures
PowerBot allows you to create safety protocols & procedures to avoid risk situations or even react to them in order to minimize the damage. Overheating and fires are some examples of risk situations that PowerBot can handle. There is also a main security feature included on PowerBot: the cool-down time which prevents damage to devices that need some time to cool down before turning them on (HPS Lamps). All of these makes the PowerBot a life saver for any grower.
PowerBot communicates with GroNode (the system's core module) through radio frequency with a range of 25 meters indoors (depending on obstacles) and 100 meters in open spaces. This makes it easy to install the PowerBot on your growing area or even on the outside.
Its design features 4 LEDs that indicates which elements are ON. Useful to visually understand what is happening on your grow(s).
But, what I get with a Starter Kit?
This is the exact package that will arrive at your door step. It comes with our GroNode, a PowerBot and all the necessary cables, sensors and connectors. This kit will allow you to control more variables of your grow in the future just by adding extra modules
2300W is a bit less to my grow...
Don't worry, there are two ways you can raise the amount of power you can control, or by adding another PowerBot to your system, or with the use of electrical contactors you can provide power to much more then base 2300W.
How many modules does GroNode support?
You can add up to 4 modules of each type for each GroNode (the brain).
4 PowerBots equals 16 independent electrical connectors and four temperature and humidity sensors which can control up to 4 independent growing areas.
4 SoilBots provides 16 moisture sensors for substrate with which control multiple groups of plants. 8 substrate temperature sensors and 8 flood detectors. Each SoilBot Box comes with 2 humidity sensors, 1 temperature sensor and 1 flood detector. You can add the extra sensors you need.
4 TankBots give you the possibility to control up to 16 sensors of your choice (sensors that act as a switch) and 16 actuators of 12 or 24 volts with a maximum of 5 watts per output (delivered with a transformer 12v).
Schedule your irrigations
Connect your water pump or your 220V Water valve to PowerBot to activate irrigation. This kit does not include SoilBot so it will be necessary to schedule irrigation. GroLab Software lets you create schedules for hours and days of the week. You can also create recurrences to automate your hydroponics system (eg, 5 minutes every 5 minutes).
Create security protocols
What kind of security protocols I can create for each module?
- Turn off electrical elements that endanger safety at precise times.
- Check that the temperatures do not exceed the logical margins and act accordingly.
- It emits a loud beep if a security alarm is detected.
- Manage all security protocols.
- Send notices to computers connected to the local network with GroLab Software enabled.
- Send messages to multiple online platforms (Email, Twitter, Facebook), requires an Internet connection.
